Warrant
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Monday, Sept. 17, 3:34 p.m., 100 block No. Adams St., "subject at P&P Offices to turn themselves in."  Fifty-year old Larae Withrow arrested on CQPD warrant for Probation Violation, DUII, Recklessly Endangering Another.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Drugs
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Sunday, Sept. 16, 10:28 p.m., Fishtrap Boat Ramp, "suspicious vehicle."  Twenty-seven year old Matthew Smith arrested on charge of PCS II and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Sex Abuse
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Friday, Sept. 14, 5:31 p.m., 600 block E. 12th, "follow up," 50-year old William Rife arrested on two-counts of Sex Abuse I and one-count of Attempted Sex Abuse.

Meth
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Monday, Sept. 10, 5:12 p.m., 800 block No. Elliott St., "assist DHS," 28-year old Amber Patee in custody on a charge of PCS Meth.  Thirty-nine year old Melissa Patee in custody on a charge of PCS Meth.

Overcorrected
The operator of a green 1998 Ford Ranger pickup truck went for a wild ride on Hwy. 101, milepost 218, Sept. 5, 2:25 p.m.  According to a report from the Oregon State Police, Steven McAnelly, Riddle, was southbound when his truck started to drift onto the gravel shoulder.  He overcorrected and it went across the northbound lane.  He overcorrected again and it went back to the right where it left the roadway, struck an embankment, went airborne, spun 180 degrees clockwise before coming to rest on its wheels facing north on the south shoulder.  

Rear end accident
The operator of a 1991 Toyota truck hadn't noticed two vehicles stopped in front of him on Hwy. 101 waiting for another vehicle to turn Sept. 5, 12:15 p.m., at milepost 232.5, and crashed into the rear of a 2012 Kia Soul operated by 52-year old Raymond Lathrom.  According to an OSP report, his vehicle in turn pushed into a 2012 Ford Crown Victoria operated by 37-year old Janice L. Wiley.  Twenty-three year old Kenneth Fisher was cited for Following Too Close.

Deer-related
A deer trotting across Hwy. 101, milepost 210, Sept. 3, 8:41 p.m., caused the driver of a 2006 Dodge R25 truck to stop suddenly.  However, a following 1987 VW Golf, operated by 26-year old Brandon Leland Tugman, Springfield, couldn't stop in time and a collision occurred.  According to an OSP report, the VW caught fire.  Gardiner Fire responded.  A 40-year old male passenger in the pickup truck complained of neck pain.  No citations were issued.

Motorcycle accident
The operator of a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle that lost control on Hwy. 42-South, milepost 2, Sept. 2, 5:45 p.m., and collided with an RV, was transported to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay with a broken leg.  According to an OSP report, 43-year old Jeremy James Wedge, Roseburg, was operating the bike, while 56-year old Linda Joy Hanson, Ashland, was driving the 2007 motor home.  She was not injured.

DUII CS
A 46-year old Bandon female was arrested on several charges Sept. 2, 3:25 p.m., on Hwy. 101 at milepost 243.  According to an OSP report, Terri Dee Sullivan was parked at the ODOT driveway with the hood up on her 1990 Ford Escort.  "Investigation revealed that the operator had driving to the scene and was impaired."  She was charged with DUII and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.  "In addition, Ms. Sullivan was cited for Reckless Endangering as she was driving impaired with a person in her vehicle.  Sullivan was also issued a ticket for Open Container as she had two different types of open alcohol beverages in her vehicle, and one that fell out of her vehicle onto the ground."  Her Parole Officer was notified of her arrest.

Warrant
A transient stopped on a bicycle Sept. 1, 8:22 p.m., Cape Arago Hwy. and Boat Basin Road, for a violation resulted in an arrest.  According to an OSP report, 52-year old Phillip Daniel Campbell was found to be wanted on an arrest warrant, for Probation Violation involving an Assault IV charge, and taken into custody.  He was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Accident
A rental vehicle was wrecked on hwy. 101, milepost 199, August 31, 7:05 p.m., and the driver left the scene. According to an OSP report, the blue 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was northbound when it crossed the southbound lane of travel, left the roadway, and continued north into trees.  "Witnesses statements indicate the operator had minor facial injuries and had removed property from the vehicle, along with the rental agreement and caught a ride with a passing northbound motorist prior to law enforcement arriving.  The subject did not call to report the incident and had not notified Enterprise of the vehicle's location.  Subject's Military Unit was unaware of his whereabouts, and will contact OSP when he is located.  The vehicle incurred severe front and rear end damage."  The driver was identified as 27-year old Jeremy Steven Wallace, Fort Lewis, WA.

Throwing Burning Material
The driver of a silver 1991 Isuzu Rodeo was "unable to maintain a single lane of travel," August 30, 9:40 p.m. on Hwy. 38, milepost 6, and stopped by an Oregon State Police trooper.  According to a report, "the operator was placed in custody for DUII."  However, the front right passenger, a 77-year old Reedsport woman, "threw the burning ember from her cigarette from the passenger window.  She was cited for Throwing Burning Material and provided a courtesy transport to her residence," because she is legally blind and had consumed alcoholic beverages.  The operator was identified as 49-year old Margaret Ellen Murphy, Reedsport.  She was charged with DUII, BAC Refusal, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Refuse Breath Test.  She was transported to the Reedsport PD.

Throwing Beer Cans
A passenger in a grey 2003 VW Jetta admitted to throwing beer cans out a window after a traffic stop in Coquille by an Oregon State Police trooper August 29, 1:53 p.m.  According to an OSP report, 21-year old Lynn Cary Barnes III "admitted to discarding the beer cans so that they would not have open containers in the vehicle."  The trooper stopped the vehicle following complaints of "poor driving" and the discarding of the beer cans.  He was also found to possess less than an ounce of marijuana.  Twenty-one year old Hunter S. Hillis was identified as the driver of the vehicle and consented to a search, as did another passenger, 21-year old Robert B. Sanders.  All three were described as "transients."  An Rx bottle belonging to a female was located within the vehicle.  All three were charged with PCS Less than an Oz. Marijuana.  Hillis was also charged with Driving Uninsured.  Barnes was cited and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.  Other possible charges were referred to the Coos Co. District Attorney's Office.

Accident
He admitted to texting while driving just prior to a single-vehicle accident on Hwy. 101, milepost 216.5, Aug. 27, 7 p.m.  According to an OSP report, the burgundy 1994 Dodge Caravan left the roadway and entered a ditch.  "The vehicle incurred damage to the fuel system, suspension, and flattened three tires. The operator's driver's license had expired."  Forty-two year old Zachary Larson, Kingston, WA, was warned for cell phone use and cited for Failure to Maintain a Single Lane or Travel and No Operator's License.

DUII CS
The 1985 brown Ford van was stopped for impeding traffic on Hwy. 101, milepost 220, on August 26, 8:23 p.m.  It was clocked at 38 mph on a 55 mph open highway.  According to an OSP report, 28-year old Collin Jay Simanton, Richland, WA, was found to be impaired.  He was transported to North Bend PD for a breath test and urine sample. Simanton was charged with ten-counts of Reckless Endangering as he was driving impaired while transporting ten hitchhikers in his vehicle.  He was also cited for No Operator's License, No Insurance and Impeding Traffic.

Probation/Interfering
A 29-year old male who ran from a fight scene at Kellogg and Welch near Coos Bay August 26, 2:15 p.m., was apprehended following a short chase by an Oregon State Police trooper.  According to an OSP report, Steven Miles Robeson, Coos Bay, had a Detainer placed on him by his Parole Officer and was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Warrants
According to an OSP report for August 25, 4:55 p.m., Lakeside, 54-year old Johnnie Calvin Langley was located at his residence and taken into custody on two valid arrest warrants for Probation Violation from the Reedsport Justice Court, and DUII, Reckless Driving from the Coos Co. Circuit Court.  He was transported to the county jail at Coquille.

DUII CS
The driver fell asleep at the wheel of a blue 2005 Chevrolet and crashed on Hwy. 101, milepost 229, on August 22, 12:53 a.m.  According to an OSP report, the vehicle went into a ditch and rolled onto its side.  "An investigation revealed that the operator was impaired."  Sixty-one year old Thea Jean Chickering, Winchester Bay, was transported to North Bend PD for a breath and urine sample.  She was cited and released for DUII Controlled Substance.

Accident
The driver of a 2011 Ford Econoline van who left his southbound lane of Hwy. 101, milepost 231.5, August 20, 4:30 p.m., for an unknown reason, collided with a northbound vehicle operated by 27-year old Joshua Pabst, Lacey, WA.  According to an OSP report, Pabst and a passenger complained of pain and were transported to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay.  Twenty-five year old Austin Bremond Bettin, Coos Bay, and his passenger, refused medical attention.  He was cited for No Operator's License and Careless Driving.

Warrants
A traffic stop at the Shell Station on W. Central in Coquille Thursday, August 30, 2:31 p.m., resulted in a warrant arrest.  According to an entry on the police log, 46-year old Paul Gilbert II was arrested on a charge of DWS Misdemeanor, but also wanted on a Douglas Co. warrant for Failure to Appear on a DWS charge and in Lane Co. for Failure to Appear on DWS - Misdemeanor charge.

Wanted
A reported dispute on So. Cedar in Coquille Friday, August 31, 11:54 a.m., resulted in an arrest.  According to an entry on the police log, 39-year old Robert Clinton Sanborn Jr. arrested on Douglas Co. warrant for Probation Violation on original charge involving a traffic offense.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Trespass/Harassment
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Tuesday, August 28, 9:15 p.m., Myrtle Lane Motel, "out with two," 30-year old Amber Swenson arrested on charges of Criminal Trespass I and Domestic Harassment.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Clothes optional?
According to an entry on Coquille Tribal Police log for Tuesday, August 28, 5:17 p.m., 4th & Hall, "report Chace is on the corner taking her clothes off."

Harassment
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Sunday, August 26, 8:18 p.m., 800 block Elliott.  "Male vs. female disturbance."  Thirty-one year old Robert C. Field arrested for Harassment, Resisting Arrest, and Assault on Public Safety Officer.  Thirty-six year old Cynthia Warren charged with Disorderly Conduct.  Both transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

DUII
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Saturday, August 25, Hwy. 42 & Halfway Road, "result of traffic stop," 58-year old Richard Peters arrested for DUII and cited for Failure to Maintain Lane, Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle and Open Container.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Accident
Minor injuries were reported after two vehicles collided on the Powers Hwy. August 18, 5:50 p.m.  According to an Oregon State Police report, "the crash occurred when the operator of westbound vehicle #1 was negotiating a left hand curve at a speed greater than recommended."  The second vehicle was stopped on the shoulder, "partially in the westbound lane of travel."  The first driver saw the second vehicle too late and collided with the back of it, rolling it onto the driver side.  It came to rest in the Ranger Station driveway.

Warrant
A 1972 Chevrolet Belair, stopped for defective lighting Augsut 17, Ocean Blvd. at Butler in Coos Bay, 10:10 p.m., led to an arrest.  According to an OSP report, 29-year old Jvonn Brandon Rafique, North Bend, was found to be wanted in Douglas Co.  "The operator also displayed signs and symptoms of impairment."  He was arrested on the warrant, but refused a Field Sobriety Test.  He was arrested for DUII and a search revealed less than one ounce of marijuana.  He was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille where he was cited for Criminal DWS Misdemeanor and DUII and a violation for Less than one Oz. Marijuana.

Rollover
A male juvenile reportedly fell asleep while driving a 1994 Nissan pickup truck north on hwy,. 101, milepost 220.5, and wrecked on August 17 at 3:40 p.m.  According to an OSP report, "the vehicle crossed over oncoming lanes of traffic and rolled several times down a steep embankment before coming to a stop."  He was not injured and no citations were issued.

U-Turn
The operator of a vehicle pulled out and parked in a northbound gravel turnout on Hwy. 101 at Adams Road, August 17, 1:35 p.m., "pulled out into the right hand lane of travel and immediately executed a U-Turn in front of northbound vehicle #2."  According to an OSP report, the operator #2 attempted to brake when she saw vehicle #1 turn in front of her.  "The collision occurred in the left lane of travel and both vehicles came to rest blocking the southbound right hand lane of travel."  All occupants refused medical.

Rollover
The driver said he reached down to pick up a tipped over vase of flowers inside his 1993 Toyota 4x4 pickup truck when he drove off the shoulder of the highway.  According to an OSP report, the male juvenile, from Powers, had just traveled off the ramp from eastbound Hwy. 42 onto the westbound Hwy. 242 (Powers Hwy.), August 16, 4:47 p.m., when the accident occurred.  The truck went off the left shoulder off ramp and down a gravel embankment.  It crashed into an ODOT sign before going over a cement retaining wall.  The vehicle rolled onto its top.  The driver denied any injuries and was cited for Failure to Drive within Lane and warned for Careless Driving.

Rollover
The driver said he fell asleep just before his 2005 Dodge pickup truck left Hwy. 42-South, milepost 14.5, on August 16, 4:47 p.m.  According to an OSP report, "the vehicle left the roadway and rolled.  A small utility trailer that was being towed flipped onto its top and landed in the middle of the highway blocking both east and westbound traffic."  Both the driver and a female juvenile were transported to Coquille Valley Hospital.  No citations were issued.

Warrant
A 30-year old male was arrested August 15, 7:28 p.m., at the docks in Charleston after he returned from a crab fishing trip.  According to an OSP report, Nicholas H. Shock was found to be wanted on an arrest warrant out of Multnomah County for Menacing.  He was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

DUII
A 37-year old North Bend female, stopped in a 2006 Dodge Charger for a traffic violation at Virginia & Crocker, August 14, 1:34 p.m., led to a DUII arrest.  According to an OSP report, Crystal Dawn Christensen "showed signs of impairment," and failed a Field Sobriety Test.  She was taken to NBPD where she refused a breath sample and then transported on to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.  The vehicle was towed.
