Pointed gun
A news release from the Coquille Police Dept. for Thursday, 11-17-11, “at approximately 9:30 P.M. Officers from the Coquille Police Department were dispatched to a vehicle theft that had just occurred at the Highway Deli on Highway 42 in Coquille.  The dispatched call stated that a male pulled a semi-automatic handgun  and pointed directly at the victim and demanded the vehicle keys to his black and green 1973 Ford Mustang.  The victim gave the keys to the suspect and began backing up towards the store.  The victim was ordered to get into the vehicle and he would not be killed.  The victim ran into the store and advised everyone to get away from windows that there was a man with a gun outside.  The Coquille Police Department was called.  The victim stayed calm to the point he looked back outside to determine a direction of travel and advised police.  Shortly afterwards, the vehicle was spotted by a member of the Coos Bay Police Department.  After a short pursuit, the vehicle was stopped and the suspect, now identified as JD Wilford Easley, was arrested.  JD Easley, 28,  of Coquille,  was transported to the Coos County Jail and booked for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle; Robbery I; Kidnapping II; Unlawful Use of a Weapon; Menacing; Stemming from the Coquille Charges on the theft.   A separate case involving a different victim for Criminal Mischief III, Sex Abuse III.  Other charges are pending through the Coos Bay Police Department.”
